Project Overview
Sri Suya Eggs & Livestock Enterprises is well-known in the local market for supplying eggs both wholesale and retail to vendors, shops, and direct consumers. In addition to local sales, the business also distributes Kadaknath eggs through online marketplaces such as IndiaMART, reaching a wider audience beyond physical retail.
Unlike their regular egg products, which are distributed in generic packaging supplied by vendors, Kadaknath eggs required a standalone brand identity that could remain consistent regardless of where or how the product was sold.
Key Challenges
-
Clearly differentiates Kadaknath eggs from regular eggs
-
Works across multiple selling environments (shopfronts, vendors, online listings)
-
Can be applied to standard egg cartons and kraft/grey paper bags
-
Remains affordable for a small business with frequent reprinting needs
-
Because the business supplies to different vendors who use their own materials, the branding needed to be portable, flexible, and non-dependent on custom packaging.
Design Approach
Rather than undertaking a full corporate rebrand for Sri Suya Eggs & Livestock Enterprises, the approach focused on creating a product-specific identity exclusively for Kadaknath eggs. This allowed the brand to sit seamlessly on top of existing systems without interfering with the company’s broader wholesale and vendor-based operations. The identity was designed to clearly distinguish Kadaknath eggs as a speciality, premium product, while remaining flexible enough to function independently across different selling environments.
The strategic intent was to ensure strong recognisability even when the product is sold through third-party vendors, where packaging and materials may vary. Equal importance was given to functionality and cost efficiency, prioritising practical design solutions over decorative finishes to suit the realities of small-scale and frequent production. The resulting brand positioning presents Kadaknath eggs as a distinctive identity for a rare product, and is authentic, recognisable, and practical for everyday trade. The identity is flexible for future expansion, whether for online marketplaces, retail outlets, or vendor distribution.

Color Palette
Black was chosen as the primary brand colour to reflect the distinctive nature of Kadaknath eggs, sourced from a rare chicken breed known for its entirely black appearance. This choice allowed the identity to feel authentic and premium, creating a direct visual connection between the product and its origin.
To keep printing and production cost-effective, black and white were finalised as the core colours of the identity. Since the product is packed in standard brown egg cartons and kraft paper bags commonly used in India, a bold black logo provides strong contrast, ensures high legibility, and allows the branding to remain visible even in crowded local market environments. The monochrome system also enables economical production through stamping, single-colour printing, or low-cost stickers, making it practical for a small business supplying across multiple vendors.
While the core identity remains minimal, the overall design solution was developed to feel vibrant, modern, and adaptable. Two shades of yellow were introduced as accent colours to enhance brand recall and visibility. A balanced yellow is used across packaging, stickers, and digital applications, while a brighter, near-fluorescent yellow is reserved for outdoor use such as banners and standees. This layered colour approach ensures strong shelf impact, clear differentiation in physical spaces, and scalability as the business grows.
The final identity was successfully implemented across retail applications, including stickers on cartons and a printed standee displayed outside the shop in busy market streets. The client was satisfied with the outcome, noting the practicality and clarity of the design. The effectiveness of the branding also led to repeat collaboration and referrals, further validating the strength and usability of the identity system.
